Bob Van Tuinen

CACE members and friends,

It is indeed an honor to serve you as CACE President for 2009-2010.  I am excited about what is going to happen this year.
First we have the upcoming Fall Conference which is being held in Modesto this year on November 7 and 8, 2009.  It is a two day event, co-sponsored by Modesto City Schools, and being hosted by Modesto High School.  I have already met with the high school staff and they are very excited about hosting the conference.  We are scheduling some very special speakers and beneficial workshops as well as entertainment and vendors.    A preliminary schedule of speakers and workshops should be available for you by mid September.   I am also confident that there will be at least two regional conferences this year.
The CACE Corporate Board will also be putting out two newsletters this year.  Members will receive one by the end of September and another in the spring.  Mary Ellen Harris, our Immediate Past President, has already begun working on the scholarship applications and they will be available at the November Conference.  Also, Judy Andrus, our State Parent Rep for this year, has already put together the Essay Contest Application and the documents will be available at the Fall Conference as well as this website.
I look forward to meeting as many of you that are able to attend the conference in Modesto – to renew old friendships and to make new.
To a great year in 09-10!!

Bob Van Tuinen, President
